Edinburgh College of Art Fashion Show 2008 – details and tickets announced

A special tailoring and accessories collection created from an exclusive range of Scottish fabrics will open the Morton Fraser Edinburgh College of Art Fashion Show 2008 on Wednesday 7 May.
The collection will comprise the work of all 14 graduating Fashion students, each of whom has created a stunning tailored garment from luxurious woven fabrics manufactured and provided by Borders-based Lochcarron of Scotland.
The pieces will be offset by a breathtaking variety of bespoke headpieces (made by the students, and taught by Edinburgh based milliner Sally-Ann Provan) – of all shapes, sizes and created from a variety of materials – that are sure to cut a striking silhouette on the catwalk.
The annual event will also showcase individual Fashion graduate collections, as well as mini-collections by students from second and third year Fashion, second to final year Textiles, and highly creative theatrical pieces from Performance Costume closing the show.
Robert Gillan, Associate Head of the School of Design at Edinburgh College of Art said:
“This year’s Fashion Show promises to be one of the best ever with a particularly strong final year group whose hard work has resulted in an eclectic range of collections. The tailoring project in particular has been beautifully achieved, and we fully anticipate audiences to be impressed by the level of creativity, skill and the vision of our students.”
This year’s show is kindly sponsored by leading law firm Morton Fraser and will take place in the College’s Sculpture Court from Weds 7 – Fri 9 May 2008.
Linda Urquhart, Chief Executive of Morton Fraser said:
"Morton Fraser as a firm is always looking to support creative talent and innovation. This is the second year we’ve been associated with the Fashion Show, and we’re delighted to support such an exciting and high-profile event which showcases some of the best young talent in the country.”
Tickets (priced at £15) will be on sale from Tickets Scotland (www.tickets-scotland.com; 0131 220 3234; in person from their Rose Street Branch) from Monday 10 March for the following Show times:
