Chrystie, a variant spelling, was adopted by a well-known family in Old Stirling. A John Chrystie was admitted Burgess of Aberdeen in 1530 and Cristina Cristie was a tenant under the Bishop of Moray in 1547. The name is now widespread throughout Scotland.
